Diamond State Romance Authors

February was a particularly grueling month for me as a writer and March is turning out to be equally challenging. But I’m handling it, one project at a time, cross one hurdle before taking on the next.

At the beginning of this year I gave myself permission not to make New Year’s resolutions. Instead, I chose a word to live by. My word is FOCUS.

I finished a book in January, taking 3 weeks to finish it. Then February hit with edits from three different publisher on three different books. Followed by an impossible deadline to finish writing a book I’d started seven years ago and only had three chapters written, with 54,000 words needed to finish it. And, by the way, get it done in enough time for a round of edits and turn it in by June’s Romantic Times Magazine Review deadline. I had nine days to write 54,000 words. To top that off, I had a 21,000-word book to complete by the end of the month. Add the other all-day events that draw you away from work. How did I get it all done?

With FOCUS, I wrote my book, my novella, did 5 rounds of edits on 4 different books, and a work related trip to Biloxi, MS. Now to keep up the pace in March!

 Voodoo On The Bayou

“By day a frog, by night a man, ‘til de next full moon…”

At first, lawyer and ladies’ man Craig Thibodeaux thought Madame LeBieu’s chant was a strange bayou joke. But the voodoo worked and Craig is spending his days as…well, a small green frog. Now he has only two weeks to find love, or his new froggy transformation becomes permanent.

When she receives the anonymous toxic water sample from Bayou Miste, research scientist Elaine Smith decides a trip to the bayou is the perfect excuse to escape the lab, and forget about her cheating ex-fiancé. Then she accidentally stumbles upon Craig’s oh-so-fine naked form, and her science-nerd brain is overrun with naughty thoughts about her new gorgeous night-time bayou guide.

But there’s more to Bayou Miste than voodoo curses and sexy late-night trysts. Dark secrets threaten the delicate ecosystem, and there are those who would do anything to keep those secrets hidden. Even murder…
